Ben Jakovljevic is Senior Counsel at ADLI Law Group, where he practices employment law and business litigation. Ben regularly counsels employers on best employment practices, prepares and updates employee handbooks and other company documents, resolves informal disputes, and handles administrative matters and hearings. When litigation is necessary, he defends employers of all sizes from both wage-based and non-wage-based claims. Whether the case involves a single plaintiff or a class action, Ben gives his clients thoughtful and cost-effective representation, while simultaneously serving as their dedicated advocate.
Ben is also part of ADLI’s business litigation practice. In this capacity, Ben represents clients in state and federal court litigation, mediations, and arbitrations, in disputes ranging from tort-based claims like fraud and trade secret misappropriation, to contract-based claims like breach of contract and declaratory relief. With lead trial counsel experience and nearly a dozen appellate briefs under his belt, Ben is comfortable handling cases from day one through judgment.
Ben earned a Juris Doctor degree and Business Law Certificate from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of California-Irvine. During law school, Ben worked for a superior court judge, a national research laboratory, a capital defense non-profit organization, a small law firm, the USC Law Library, and the USC Small Business Clinic. He also served as a board member of the Southern California Interdisciplinary Law Journal and had two articles published. This diverse array of experiences across a variety of legal settings gave Ben unique insight into the traits outstanding attorneys often share: competence, compassion, diligence, and a practical approach.
