ADLI attorney Monisha Coelho elected as Chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Litigation Section.
Monisha Coelho, Head of International Practice—India, ADLI Law Group, has been elected the Chair of the Litigation Section for the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA). Previously, Monisha was the Chair-Elect and the Vice Chair for the Section. In her role as Chair, Ms. Coelho is tasked with leading the Litigation Section’s efforts to further and improve the standards of trial practice and legal advocacy in civil litigation. The Litigation Section accomplishes these goals through the active participation of judges and attorneys on a wide range of issues, including the effective functioning of the court system; improving legal skills, ethics, and civility amongst attorneys; commenting on changes in rules and laws; and promoting the participation of women and minority lawyers in the legal profession. Ms. Coelho is the first attorney of Asian-Indian descent to be elected to this prestigious position and only the 14th women to lead the Section since its inception in 1973.
Ms. Coelho handles business and real estate disputes and has successfully litigated a broad range of complex business, corporate, and real estate cases in California. She also advises clients on corporate restructuring and transactions. Monisha heads the firm’s India Practice and represents American and Indian companies in US-India cross-border corporate transactions, litigations, and arbitrations.
