Tawen Chang is a senior associate at Adli Law Group P.C. Her practice focuses primarily on patent litigation. She has litigated cases in a wide variety of fields, ranging from biotechnology and medical devices to electronics and Internet technologies.
Prior to joining Adli Law Group, Ms. Chang was an associate at Fish & Richardson P.C. in Boston and at Heller Ehrman LLP in Silicon Valley. She obtained her law degree with honors from Harvard Law School in 2001 and her A.B. degree in biology with honors from Harvard College in 1998. Ms. Chang also obtained an LL.M. degree in information technology and intellectual property law from the University of Hong Kong in 2010.
Ms. Chang is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and, in addition to representing clients in the United States, has also represented a number of companies based in Taiwan and China.

• In the Matter of Certain Vein Harvesting Surgical Systems and Components Thereof (U.S.I.T.C.)-Represented respondents Terumo Corporation and Terumo Cardiovascular Systems Corporation in patent litigation involving certain surgical devices used to harvest blood vessel.
• Rembrandt Vision Technologies, L.P. v. CIBA Vision Corp. (E.D. Tex.)-Represented plaintiff Rembrandt Vision Technologies L.P. in patent litigation involving contact lenses. Jury awarded Rembrandt $41 million after a week-long trial.
• Ricoh Company, ltd. v. Lite-On IT Corp., et al. (E.D. Tex.)-Represented defendant Lite-On in patent litigation involving optical drives and the technology of writing data to discs.
• Datamize LLC v. Fidelity Brokerage Serv. LLC, et al. (E.D. Tex.)-Represented defendant Fidelity Brokerage Services LLC in patent litigation involving computer user interfaces and internet technologies.
• Ritek Corp. et al. v. Riospring Inc., et al. (Santa Clara Superior Court)-Represented plaintiffs Ritek and Microstor in litigation involving claims of theft of trade secrets relating to the design and manufacture of micro drives, unfair competition, breach of contract and related claims.
• Syntex (U.S.A.) LLC, et al. v. Apotex, Inc. (N.D. Cal.)-Represented plaintiffs Syntex (U.S.A.) LLC (now Roche Palo Alto) and Allergan, Inc. in patent litigation involving ophthalmic drug formulation. Bench trial resulted in favorable judgment.
• Cisco Systems, Inc., et al. v. Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., et al. (E.D. Tex.)-Represented defendants Huawei Technologies and its U.S. subsidiaries in litigation involving claims of copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and patent infringement relating to the technologies of network routers and switches.
• Atmel Corp. v. Agere Systems, Inc. (N.D. Cal.)-Represented plaintiff Atmel Corporation in patent infringement litigation involving digital signal processor technology.
